Business BTEC Level 2 First Certificate at Havering College of Further and Higher Education

Course description

You will cover key aspects of the business world and study basic principles relating to marketing and finance. You will also study several specialist units handpicked by the lecturers to give you a deeper understanding of the industry.

Course content

You can expect to cover the following topics:

  • Enterprise in the Business World
  • Finance for Business
  • Principles of Marketing
  • Principles of Customer Service
  • Recruitment, Selection and Employment

If you have not yet achieved a grade C (or above) in GCSE English and maths, you will be required to attend GCSE resit sessions (if you achieved grade D) or functional skills sessions (if you achieved grade E or below).

Entry requirements

At least 4 GCSE’s at grade D or above (including English and maths)

Assessment

You will be assessed through written assignments, exams, presentations and other practical activities.

Future opportunities

You could progress onto one of our level 3 business courses or an AAT Course.

Employment opportunities could include junior roles as a marketing assistant, business administrator or finance assistant.
