Course description

Why should I take this course?

This course is a progression from Level 1 Hair or for anybody who wants to work in the industry and has some experience.

Entry requirements

What do I need to join this course?

You will need to have 3 GCSEs grade ā€˜Cā€™ or above - one must be in English or Level 1 Hair.

You will be interviewed to judge your suitability for enrolment on the course.

Good timekeeping, attendance and a willingness to learn will be important  factors for completion on the course.

You will need a training head and your own tools and equipment.

(This can be ordered through the college).

How will I be assessed?

The assessment will include:

Building a portfolio which is an evidence file of your work

Observation of practical activities

Assignments

Evolve Online Assessments

Financial information

Students can apply for support from the Student Support Fund.

Future opportunities

What will I be able to do after the course finishes?

You can progress on to NVQ2/VRQ3 in Hairdressing. You can also gain employment in industry or pursue an Apprenticeship.

What qualification will I achieve if I successfully complete this course?

Level 2 VRQ in Hairdressing.
