When should I come in?

A traineeship can last up to a maximum of six months. We will agree the timescales with your placement and with you.

Will I get paid?

You won’t get paid but you may get financial support and help with travel costs. You can also continue to claim benefits.

What happens at the end of a traineeship?

Everyone on the traineeship programme will be offered an exit interview with your work placement organisation to help you practice and prepare for future opportunities. Where available, these interviews may be for real apprenticeship or job vacancies within the organisation. You will also gain qualifications from courses completed with The Training Brokers to add to your CV.

Course Overview

A eight week Traineeship programme that is tailor made to support young people, aged 16-24 who want to work, but would like extra help to gain an apprenticeship or a job.

Traineeships will give you the opportunity to develop the skills and work experience that employers require for your long term career development. Our programme will give you the confidence, skills and experience to compete in the labour market with more experienced adults.

Classroom Training - 3 weeks ( 2 weeks - Work placement - 1 week)

        Content will include:

  • Programme Induction
  • Understanding Customer Service
  • Self-management skills
  • Job Searching – various Apprenticeship vacancies available
  • Complete an Application Form
  • Interview Techniques & CV Writing
  • Preparing for you Work Placement
  • English & Maths Support

     Work Placement – 5 weeks

Industry sectors – Business Administration / Childcare / Customer Service / Grounds Maintenance / Hospitality / Retail

We work closely with a number of committed and supportive employers that can provide you with valuable and vital experience. More importantly, it will provide you with the opportunity to reach your personal best as well as provide an exciting starting point in your career.

Entry requirements

Aged between 16 and 24
Qualified below Level 3
Actively seeking employment, an apprenticeship or a training opportunity
Resident in the UK or EU for the past 3 years
Able to attend a 3 week training programme and a 5 week work placement

Financial information

To enrol on one of our Traineeships free of charge, you must be:

Future opportunities

On completion of the Traineeship all learners will be offered interviews for apprenticeship vacancies with our Partner Training Providers. There are a variety of apprenticeship positions available across all sectors.
