Hospitality, Supervision and Leadership City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma at Carshalton College

Course description

The course is ideal for those who already have experience or qualifications in Food & Beverage Service and want to develop advanced skills in this area.

This course will help you develop skills in managing and supervising staff and resources whilst working in the college training restaurant.

The units you will study include:

  • Food Safety
  • Event planning and management
  • Restaurant floor service planning
  • Bar supervision
  • Costing
  • Banking
  • Ordering
  • Management skills

Entry requirements

Sucessful completion of a Level 2 qualification in a relevant vocational area or three GCSEs at grade D or above to include English.

If you do not have a Grade C GCSE in English and maths, you will be required to study these or Functional Skills throughout the year.


Assessment will be based on observation of your practical skills and the completion of a portfolio which includes evidence of your understanding of the theory as well as the practical aspects of your work.

Future opportunities

Seek promotion or employment at a more senior level, or prepare for further qualifications in higher education including university.
