Multitrade Construction Activities Level 1 Certificate at Harrogate College
The Level 1 certificate in Multitrade Construction Activities qualification has been developed for delivery in a training environment; this means that you do not need to be employed to study this qualification. It has been designed to develop your skills, knowledge and understanding so you can work as a Construction Operative in the construction industry or progress to further training.
This level 1 Certificate will give you a solid foundation in Multi-trade Construction Activities and prepare you to take further qualifications to develop your skills, knowledge and understanding within Multi-trade Construction Activities.
You should undertake this qualification if you have some previous experience (e.g Work placement, working with family, summer job etc.).
This is a multi-trade qualification wherein Learners will develop basic skills in the following areas:
- Wood Working - Plastering - Painting and decorating - Bricklaying - Wall and Floor Tiling
The learner will cover knowledge in three core subject areas:
- Health and safety in construction trades - Communicating effectively in construction trades
The Learner will also learn key practical skills and knowledge in:
- Construct woodworking joints - Fit architrave and skirting - Fit ironmongery to an internal door - Using plaster materials to produce moulds - Plaster a ceiling - Plaster walls - Plaster corners - Apply paint to substrates - Apply wallpapers to substrates - Prepare substrates for painting and decorating - Build a block wall - Build a brick wall - Build a cavity wall - Tile Floors - Tile Walls.
This Level 1 Certificate in Multitrade Construction Activities qualification has been designed for those learners who know they want to enter the construction industry however are undecided which trade best suits them.
This qualification will teach you the hand skills and increase your knowledge across the trades, for progressing onto a full trade at level 2.
Upon completion of this course, you could progress onto a Level 2 Construction course in your chosen area.
