Computer Science AS/A Level at Godalming College
This subject is concerned with solving problems with computers. A significant aspect of the course is the investigation, design and implementation of customised computer systems, and much of the teaching is devoted to developing the skills required. Programming is introduced in the AS year and developed to a higher level of complexity in the full A level. Theory work covers a wide range of hardware and software topics.
Course assessment: There will be examinations designed to test both your practical and problem solving skills and your understanding of the theory topics. In addition, the full A level will contain an individual project worth 20% of the assessment.
Grade B in Maths and grade C in English. You are also recommended to take AS Maths alongside Computing.
