Leisure and Sports Development Level 2 Apprenticeship at Preston's College

Course description

Then an Apprenticeship in Sports and Leisure is ideal. Our unique Apprenticeships are perfect if you want to work in the sports and leisure industry in the operation and development of sport and leisure facilities. The Level 2 and 3 Apprenticeship provides four routes (qualifications) that you could take. Level 2 includes leisure operations and activity leadership. Level 3 includes leisure management and sports development.

Course content

In Level 2 Leisure Operations you’ll learn how to support the work of the team in your organisation, set up, take down and store activity equipment and support equality and diversity in active leisure and recreation.

In Level 2 Activity Leadership you’ll learn how to plan, lead and review coaching activities.

You are also required to study functional skills such as maths, English and computing, as well as any additional qualifications that your employment needs.

Entry requirements

All Apprenticeships require an initial assessment, interview and employment in the industry. You’ll also need four GCSEs at grade D or above including English and maths.

Assessment

Assessment includes course work, exams (written and practical), oral questioning, a portfolio of evidence, practical demonstrations and assignments.

Future opportunities

You can progress to the Level 3 Apprenticeship programme in either Leisure Management or Sports Development while continuing in your employment.
