Course description

The Intermediate Apprenticeship in Children and Young People’s Workforce is aimed at people who are either deciding on a career in childcare or who are already working in the sector.

Job roles include Nursery Assistant in a private or council run nursery, child-minder or play group, you also may be working with older children in a care or H&SC setting.

If you are out-going, confident and enjoy the company of children, this is the qualification for you.

 

The Advanced Apprenticeship in Children and Young People is aimed at people who are already working in the Childcare sector and are now in a more senior role, you will be supervising staff and have a good knowledge of child development.

The qualification is a good stepping stone in advancing your career where you can progress into management or into higher education.

 

Course content

What roles could I be doing for the Children & Young People’s Workforce Apprenticeship?

Depending on your employer, you could be employed as Care Worker/Assistant, Assistant Youth Support & Community Worker, Nursery Supervisor, Nursery Nurse or Nursery teaching Assistant.

You can gain a qualification in the Children & Young People’s Workforce to further your career or even just obtain a certificate for what you currently do without the need for going to college or university. You can complete the qualification at work with the support of a highly qualified training advisor and an online portfolio.

An Apprenticeship in Children & Young People’s Workforce is an internationally recognised qualification that provides the essential foundation and development of skills.

The course of the qualifications enables individuals to advance within their role working in community learning and development, further education, higher education, teaching support, libraries, archives and information services, or work-based learning and development.
