Watersports Extended Diploma at Falmouth Marine School

Course description

This course is for students who are thinking of becoming a watersports instructor in the UK or abroad, PE Teacher, Coach, Fitness instructor, Event management or Sports development, or for those who enjoy sports and the outdoors, and would like to enhance their experience, knowledge and skills before progessing into employment or university.

Course content

You will undertake 19 units over the two years spread across four 16 week semesters.

You will be taught the theoretical principles for all units and given the opportunity to apply these in a variety of practical settings, e.g. sports coaching & leadership Or organising an event with primary school groups; fitness testing and training for different clients.

Assessments are planned throughout the two years for each unit. They will take on a variety of formats such as verbal, observation and written courseswork assignments.

You will also have the opportunity to undertake relevant work placement and gain National Governing Body awards in sports or outdoor activities

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grade C and above including Maths and English, or an equivalent level 2 BTEC qualification.

Future opportunities

On sucessful completion you will be well equipped for employment in the Uk and abroad, or progress onto the Foundation Degree in Marine Sports Science
