A Level Further Mathematics at Wootton Upper School and Arts College

Course description

  •  Exploring pure and applied maths in a wider and deeper way than you have done so far!
  •  Developing your mathematical skills, especially those regarding forming and solving complex problems – and discovering the ‘Inner Geek’ in you!!!

Entry requirements

You need to have gained a grade A in your GCSE Maths. This course is in a double option together with AS maths. The Head of Department will also need to agree that you are suited to do this subject.

Future opportunities

Almost anything you like! In particular, any degree in the mathematical, science, engineering or social sciences arenas will benefit from you having studied Further Maths. Check out the entry requirements for degree courses you might be interested in – these days, many now list having Further Maths as either a bonus or a necessity, especially maths and physics at the top institutions!
