Law at Ormiston Shelfield Community Academy

Course description

What the subject is about: Learning how laws develop, are administered and affect all aspects of our lives is a rewarding course of study. Law is a subject that is changing all the time and the study of law requires a well-motivated, organised and enquiring mind. It will help you to understand why legal decisions are made and how social rules or individual conduct develop to benefit us all. You will develop analytical skills by tackling case studies. The aim is to relate as far as possible to everyday situations. Progressing from AS Level you will study Contact Law, Consumer Protection and Concepts of Law.

    •  We are the only secondary school in the Black Country to hold FA Centre status.  Students who attend the Football Academy will combine guided learning hours in the Football Academy alongside their Sixth Form subjects.  There is also the opportunity for students to stay on in Year 14 to follow our Apprenticeship Programme or to take advantage of the links we have with football coaching camps in the USA or our links with the University of Worcester to access higher education.
