This course is designed to give an opportunity to explore and study a variety of different vocational areas. Learners will explore more than one sector and is aimed at those unsure of their direction at Level 1. All learners will also develop essential skills for life: Number, Communication and Information Technology are a compulsory part of the programme.
You will study a range of subjects that will give you an understanding of topics such as Customer Service, Health & Safety, IT, Healthy Body. You will also be given the opportunity to experience taster sessions in different vocational areas to give you more information about your choices in employment and further college courses. A key part of the course is meeting your individual needs, and you will also be studying Literacy and Numeracy and will be given the chance, through excellent support, to grow and achieve at a pace that suits you. The course can be taken over two years if more help and support is needed. You will be assessed at the start of the course and a plan will be put in place to meet your individual needs. You can gain an Entry 3 & Level 1 qualification and also qualifications in literacy and numeracy.
There are no formal entry requirements. This course is designed specifically for young people who want to get back into education and those who do not have the required GCSE grades to get on to a Level 2 course.
The Level 1 qualification (usually at Merit and above) and a Level 1 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy will give you the entry requirements for most Level 2 courses.
