Brickwork Level 2 Diploma at Lakes College West Cumbria

Course description

The Level 2 Diploma in Brickwork is a one year, full time course that will help students develop practical skills and knowledge learned at Level 1. The course comprises of theory work and practical sessions in the brickwork workshop in the College‚Äôs state-of-the-art Construction Skill Centre. The units covered will include: Principles of building construction, information and communication Health, safety and welfare in construction Building solid walling, isolated and attached piers Interpreting working drawings to set out masonry structures Construct cavity walling forming masonry structures This is an ideal course for those who work well in a team, enjoy working with their hands and is looking to take their first steps in a career in Bricklaying. Maths and English will be at the core of your studies, both of which are essential if you wish to pursue a career in the industry.  

Entry requirements

Relevant Level 1 Qualification and Functional Skills Level 1 in Maths and English, or 4 GCSEs Grade A*-D including English, Maths and Practical Skills Assessment

Financial information

Free to all 16-18 and 19-23 year olds who do not already have a full level 2 qualification e.g 5 GCSE's grade A*-C. Also free to learners who are in receipt of JSA (Job Seekers Allowance) ESA ((Employment Support Allowance, (work related activity)) or Universal Credit (mandated). Where fees are payable you can set up a payment plan that best suits your needs

Future opportunities
