Heating Engineer Apprenticeship at County Durham Council

Course description

The post holders will train and gain qualifications to provide a Heating Service (Maintenance & Installation) on behalf of Building and Facilities Maintenance part of Neighbourhood Services directorate. Working colleagues and customers the post holder will undertake Mechanical duties all as assigned by the Apprentice's mentor and appropriate to the post holders level of competency.

Tasks will include installation, service, repair and maintenance of commercial and domestic plumbing, heating and gas appliances/systems. The post holders will be required to use of powered hand tools and other work equipment including working at height to carry out allocated tasks. Health and Safety and Mechanical Services training will be provided. The post holders will be required to read and interpret a range of information including drawings and technical literature.

Entry requirements

Required Qualifications: 5 GCSE Grade C or above of which two must be English & Maths or an equivalent qualification.
