Introduction to Employability Skills (for students with a learning difficulty and/or disability) at Hull College Group

Course description

The support of specialist staff will enable you to begin your journey towards employment or a higher level vocational course.

Course content

  • In Term 1 you will gain interview and CV writing skills and be involved in a small business or enterprise project as well as building up your Maths and English Skills.
  • In Term 2 you will complete a short work placement and continue with Employability Skills.
  • In Term 3 you will complete your Diploma and Maths or English qualification.

Entry requirements

No formal qualifications are required, however, applicants must demonstrate an interest and commitment to the course and complete the induction programme.

Future opportunities

You might continue study on the supported Internship or mainstream Level 1 vocational qualification.

      We want you to enjoy your time at Hull College and to help you make the most of your study time and free time too. Students are able to take part in a wide range of social and recreational activities for our students to participate in when they are not studying, as well as discounts, competitions and give-aways. The College is also fortunate to have an active Student Union which hosts an annual ‘Freshers’ Fair’ for students at the beginning of the Autumn term and organises social events throughout the year.

      Hull College students benefit from some of the best facilities in the country – and that’s official! Our most recent Ofsted report stated that the College has “outstanding specialist facilities”.
