Course description

This course develops the Spanish language through the themes of Popular Culture, Healthy Living & Lifestyle, Media & Communication and Family & Personal Relationships.

The course explores these themes through the skills of listening, reading, writing and speaking

Entry requirements

Grade B in Spanish at GCSE.

Assessment

The AS Assessment is a 3 hour examination in the skills of listening, reading and writing and a 20 minute speaking examination.

Future opportunities

Future opportunities for students taking this course are to continue to A Level and thereafter study for a single honours degree in Spanish or a joint honours degree combining Spanish with another area of study. Career opportunities include interpreting, translating, civil service, teaching and careers in the travel and hospitality industries.

Transport

Lessons in The Trinity Sixth Form are taught in two blocks, a morning and an afternoon, with a flexible lunchtime in between. Some students will find that all of their subjects will be taught in the same school, while others may choose subjects taught in another school.

Transport will be provided free during the lunchtime, so you don't have to worry about getting from morning to afternoon classes. Free before and after transport is also available to and from your home school if required.

 

Spanish will be taught at the St Thomas More site.
