Customer Service (Level 3) Advanced Apprenticeship at Central College Nottingham

Course description

This Apprenticeship teaches you the skills to provide excellent customer service and can be applied to hundreds of job roles across many different sectors, from government to telecommunications. However, most customer service apprentices work in retail, financial services, call centres, hospitality, or sport and recreation.

Course content

The Diploma in Customer Service at Level 3 contains mandatory units and optional units which are selected based on your job role.

You will study Functional Skills Maths and English at Level 2 (exempt if you have achieved GCSE grades A* to C in the last 5 years). English and Maths are an essential part of your studies and will help you succeed on your course. These subjects will help you develop confidence and are the key employability skills that all employers now look for when recruiting.

Entry requirements

The programme is accessible to all those who work in a role which involves interaction with customers either in the public or private sector. You will need to demonstrate English and Maths at Level 1 (assessed at interview) and be in a role that allows you to demonstrate the required skills to achieve the qualifications.

Assessment

You will develop an electronic portfolio of evidence against the requirements of the qualification. Evidence can be generated by observation of your workplace practice, witness testimonies, case studies or personal accounts of events. On-line tests will be used to confirm your knowledge and understanding of the requirements of the role and policies and procedure in place at the workplace.

You could progress in to the following roles:

  • Customer Relationship Manager
  • Customer Service Coordinator
  • Customer Service Team Leader

Further information

As a Customer Service Apprentice, you will probably work at the front end of an employer’s business activities and regularly assist customers. Duties will vary between sectors, but in most cases you’ll be making sure that customers are dealt with in a positive, reliable and pleasant way. A significant amount of the job training is undertaken in your workplace.
