BTEC Travel at Moseley Park

Course description


For students who have an interest in the travel and tourism industry such as working in the retail travel environment, tour operations, cabin crew or visitor attractions. The course is also a stepping stone if students want to access higher education to be able to study marketing, tourism or tour operations management and events management.

Course content

BTEC Level 3:

  1. Certificate in Travel – AS Level
  2. Subsidiary Diploma in Travel – 1 A Level
  3. Diploma in Travel – 2 A Levels
  4. Extended Diploma in Travel – 3 A Levels

These courses allow you to explore a wide range of popular areas in business such as Customer Service, Marketing, and The Role of a Holiday Representative, Long Haul Destinations, and Employment in the industry and many others, favoured by many employers and a wide range of universities.

Entry requirements

Grade C or above in English and Maths and a Merit or above in BTEC Level 2 qualification


Coursework based, no exams.

Future opportunities


A Level 3 BTEC in Travel and Tourism will provide routes to undergraduate courses at universities, such as: Manchester Metropolitan University, University College Birmingham and University of Liverpool. Undergraduate courses in Travel and Tourism are commonly Tourism Management based with the option to combine modules such as Marketing, HR, Long Haul Destinations, Event Organisation.


Students with a Level 3 BTEC in Travel and Tourism also have the option to apply for apprenticeships which will provide the opportunity to train in Travel Sales. This apprenticeship is about playing an important support role within a business or organisation.
