Motor Vehicle Level 2 at EKC Group
Study a range of automotive topics including new technologies, developing a valuable mix of skills, knowledge and motor vehicle competencies.
Learners will gain a broad knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace, agreeing customer vehicle needs and other engineering and hand skills associated with working in a garage.This course provides learners with the opportunity to study both the theory and practical aspects of a range of routine vehicle inspection, fitting and maintenance procedures.Whether working on spark ignition engine systems, light vehicle exhaust systems, suspension dampers & springs or vehicle braking systems, learners are taught to check and inspect key components for operation and wear, assess serviceability and practice removal, replacement and measurement of serviceable parts and components.
Minimum of four E grades at GCSE (students may be able to progress from the Foundation Learning Tier or equivalent Level 1 Vocational course).
Continual assessments are carried out in both the theory and practical aspects of the course. Assessment is written and observational with examinations being written and on-line.

On successful completion, you could progress onto a VRQ Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (dependant on grades achieved) or Engineering Level 2.Alternatively, you could seek employment in the local motor vehicle repair industry, giving you the opportunity to progress onto the Motor Vehicle Apprenticeship programme.
