Applied Science (Forensic Science) Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma at Redbridge College

Course description

If you want to progress to Higher Education to study Forensic Science, Psychology, Criminology (or other Science subjects) then this is the course for you! You’ll complete projects and assignments based on real-life workplace situations, activities and demands. At the end of the course you’ll be ready to enter employment or progress to high level study at university. This qualification is equivalent to three A-Levels, and if you can earn up to 420 UCAS points for your university application.

  • Scientific Investigations
  • Criminology
  • Applications of Forensic Psychology
  • Forensic Evidence Collection and Analysis

  • Genetics

Entry requirements

You will be expected to have four GCSEs at grade C or above, including English or maths, or equivalent vocational qualifications at Level 2.

Assessment

You'll be taught by our highly skilled staff, who will pass on their years of industry knowledge and experience to you. You’ll be assessed through coursework including practical sessions in the laboratory, educational visits and written work. The emphasis will be on continuous assessment, rather than end-of-year examinations.
