Travel & Tourism Level 2 BTEC Extended Certificate at East Surrey College

Course description

This qualification will inspire learners to consider a career in the travel and tourism sector. It will give students the opportunity to gain a broad knowledge and understanding of, and develop skills in, the travel and tourism sector. Learners will be given the potential opportunity, in due course, to enter employment within a wide range of job roles across the travel and tourism sector (for example in Travel agencies, visitor attractions, accommodation, business travel, or transport providers such as airlines).
The course will provide opportunities for the development of transferable skills related to study and vocational application that provide a platform for success both within travel and tourism and elsewhere.

Entry requirements

Level 1 Diploma and GCSE English & Maths (A*-D) / Five GCSEs grade D or above, including English and Maths

Assessment

Unit 1 and Unit 7 will be externally assessed with a paper based test. All other units are formally assessed by completed assignment work to meet deadlines

Financial information

If you are under 19 on 31/08/2016, tuition is free. If you are 19 or over please consult Client Services for advice and guidance on funding and eligibility.
 
Please be aware that there may be additional costs for equipment and educational visits. This information will be available from the curriculum staff at interview.

Future opportunities

Obtaining a merit or above in this course will allow you to move on to a Travel and Tourism BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma or employment at a junior level
