Course description
Geography is the study of landforms and environments, the people who inhabit them and how they interact together. Geography is in a unique position, straddling the humanities and the sciences yet maintaining a strong academic and professional identity of its own.
Students should choose geography if they have an interest in the world, its peoples and environmental issues. This course will develop the skills of enquiry, planned research and fieldwork, teamwork, presentation, problem solving, data manipulation and analysis.
Geography is a well repected discipline. More and more careers benefit from a geographical background from civil engineering to waste management and town planning to architecture.
Topics covered include. coasts, bio-diversity, super powers, technology, water, rebranding, globalisation, natural hazards, energy and development.
