Course description

The Front Office route is ideal for anyone wishing to work on a hotel reception.Units covered will include - How to maintain a safe, hygenic and secure working environment, work effectively as part of a hospitality team, cleaning and servicing a range of housekeeping areas.You may learn how to collect linen and make beds, maintain housekeeping supplies, clean windows and hard floors, carry out periodic room servicing and deep cleaning, give customers a positive impression of self and your organisation.This qualification is very flexible in its structure, enabling the organisation and individual to choose the optional units which best suit their work situation and job role.Like all Vocational training, the qualification is competence based. This means that it is linked to your ability to perform a range of tasks connected with your work. You will plan a programme of development and assessment with an assessor and compile a portfolio of evidence to prove your competence and knowledge.

Entry requirements

Ideally grade C or above in GCSE English, Maths and ICT or Level One Literacy and Numeracy. A basic skills assessment will take place when you come into Martec training.

Future opportunities

Progression onto an Advanced Apprenticeship is possible after completion depending on individual ability.
