Travel and Tourism Level 3 at Norton College

Course description

Travel and Tourism covers a wide range of employment opportunities in one of the
fastest growing industries in the UK. It includes jobs in airlines and hotels, with tour
operators and travel agents or involving tourist attractions, conferences and events, hospitality and entertainment. This type of work can offer exciting careers to those who like meeting people, want more than a routine job and are interested in travel. This
one year course is aimed at providing students with the vital skills needed to enter employment within the industry.

Course content

The course allows learners to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment in the Travel and Tourism sector.

The units studied may include:
• Worldwide travel and tourism
• Promotions and sales
•Travel and tourism destinations
• Tourism in the UK
• Principles of supervising customer service provision in hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism
• Overseas representatives

Entry requirements

GCSE or equivalent: 4 A*-C.
English and Maths - desirable.
Specific - none.
