Computing GCSE at Greenshaw High School

Course description

This course is designed for students who enjoy working with computers but want to take it to the next level. Through this course they will understand how a number of IT systems work, how to do basic computer programming and building hardware.

Course content

How different hardware works, programming languages, making computer programmes, exploring new technologies, using specialist software, building computers, the computing industry.

Entry requirements

Students must be very confident in Maths. Generally a Maths predicted grade of at least a B is required.

Future opportunities

The course is particularly good for those looking to go into career in IT or programming.
