Skills for Life - Life Skills (Entry Level 2) at Hopwood Hall College
This provision is designed for students who want to gain some qualifications in a mixture of life/vocational/ functional skills or in a chosen vocational area.
The course is nationally accredited and offers a variety of opportunities including enrichment, work placements, sports, trips, visits and guest speakers.
This course accommodates young students who have challenges/barriers to entering education, employment or training. It will help develop the necessary skills for independence in order to make positive decisions about your future which may or may not involve
a working life. Students will also gain functional skills in English, maths and ICT at an appropriate level.
Topics on these courses include:
• Home management
• Dealing with problems in everyday life
• Social relationships
• Managing money
• Using public transport
• Supported employment opportunities
• E2 Diploma in independent living
• Work in the THinc Café
No formal qualifications.
No cost for 16-19 year olds.
Aftr completing this course the next stage is to progress onto the Life Skills Plus, Work Skills programme or vocational areas within college.
