Course description

This course is an ideal starting place if you want to have a technical
career in Automotive Engineering. This level 1 qualification covers
the basic technical needs for today’s motor vehicle repair industry.
You will study the theory and practical aspects of light vehicles,
construction and routine maintenance, operating principles of light
vehicle engines tyres, brakes, steering and suspension, transmission
system and electrical/electronic systems.
Full Time Study Programmes are built around a collection of key
elements which all students benefit from, these include:
 
• Main Qualification in the subject of your choice
• English & mathematics qualifications for all students who have not
yet achieved A*- C grade in either subject
• Work Experience or External Work Placement which is planned
with you at the start of your course and links to your career goals
and ambitions
• Weekly Tutorial with your personal tutor
• A wide range of Enrichment Activities to support your broader
skills, such as team work or communication

Entry requirements

2 GCSE E-F English & Maths D or below 

Assessment

Practical assessments on motor vehicle and rigs in the workshop,
on-line tests and end of topic tests.

Future opportunities

Career in the Automotive Industry as an Apprentice.
