Geography at Andover College

Course description

Geography involves the study of our relationship with, and impacts upon, the environment, on society, on other people and different cultures.
Over the course students develop a number of personal skills: how to gather and evaluate information, collaborative working, clear communication of ideas, the ability to define key issues and identify possible solutions and gain the ability to look at the ‘bigger picture’ of global issues such as environmental responsibility and global interdependence.

This is an ideal course for students who have an interest in the geographical, political and ethical issues that face the world today.
We undertake a number of field trips and excursions:

  • London Docklands
  • Southampton/Portsmouth regeneration
  • London Conferences
  • Dorset coastal field work
  • Didcot Power station
  • Entry requirements

5 A* - C grades at GCSE including grade C or above in English.Interview Required: Yes
