Latin A-Level *Fees payable* at Brentwood School

Course description

We follow the OCR course for A Level Latin. In each of the AS and A2 years, you will take two modules. 50% of your marks come from language work, while 50% of your marks come from prose and verse literature work. At AS Level, literature studies might include Ovid'sAmores: Book III or Cicero's In Verrem. At A2 Level you might study works such as Virgil's Aeneid or Propertius' Elegies.

If you take IB Latin, 35% of your marks come from language work, while 45% of your marks come from literary work, with set authors such as Virgil and Tacitus. The remaining 20% of marks are based on an individual study, which might comprise a research dossier, a performance of Latin, or a translation from English into Latin.
