Product Design (3D Design) AS & A Level at Churchill Community College

Course description

Students will gain knowledge on how to design and make productsfor different users. They will learn how to use CAD/CAM equipments and build their knowledge and skills of materials and processes.

Entry requirements

Minimum of 5A*-C at GCSe including at least a Grade C in GCSE Product Design, GCSE Resistant Materials, GCSE Food Technology or GCSE Textiles Technology.

Assessment

AS

25% coursework (design and make assignment) and 25% exam (materials and components)

A2

25% coursework (design and make assignment) and 25% Final exam (learning through designing and making)

Future opportunities

Students will develop a broad view of Design and Technology while developing their creativity and entrepreneurialskillsleading to great careersin Designing and/or manufacturing.
