Geography at Aston Academy

Course description

Geography is a highly successful A-level subject at Aston Academy and will develop your independent learning skills and challenge your thinking.  It is also a lot of fun!  Geography will give you a greater understanding of people and their place and influence in the world. It will also provide you with wonderful opportunities to learn outside the classroom, participating in a range of field trip experiences.

• Coastal systems and landscapes
Year Two
• Changing Places
• Hazards
• Population and the environment


100% examination


Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including Mathematics, English Language and Science. You do not need to have studied Geography at GCSE to study this A Level course.


Examination (80%)
Physical geography and Human geography papers both written exams, 2 hours and 3 minutes.
Geographical investigation (20%)
Studetns complete an individual investigation on atopic of their choice. 3,000-4,000 words.
