Motorsport Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Level 2 Diploma at Barnet and Southgate College

Course description

The course is suitable for you if you have a strong interest in vehicle technology and motorsports vehicle maintenance and repair. It provides a natural progression opportunity from Level 1.

Course content

You will study; routine vehicle maintenance, pre and post work vehicle inspections, as well as health and safety, maths and ICT for automotive engineers and work with competition vehicles.

Entry requirements

You will need a level 1 Diploma in light vehicle maintenance and repair plus at least 5 GCSE grades A* - C including at least a C Maths, English and science.

Assessment

The course has a wide variety of assessment methods including: practical assessment, on-line testing, unit end-tests and coursework, all of which have to be completed for success.

Financial information

Whilst every attempt is made to keep the costs to the candidate to a minimum, the college reserves the right to charge candidates amounts over and above published fees in response to any additional charges from the awarding body. You will need to purchase the department uniform, protective boots and course books. You will also need to pay for some trips and visits.

Future opportunities

On successful completion of this course, students can progress onto Level 3 motorsport, employment or apprenticeships.
