Course description

This brand-new qualification provides up to 420 UCAS points and develops the knowledge and skills for all those who wish to pursue higher education  or work in Health or Social Care settings in England.

The mandatory units provide students with in-depth knowledge of key subject areas in health and social care. The units included are:

  • Communication
  • Infection prevention and control
  • Human growth & development
  • Psychological Perspectives
  • Sociological Perspectives
  • Safeguarding
  • Anatomy and Physiology
  • Physiology of Fluid Balance


You will be assessed through internally-marked and externally-marked coursework.

Future opportunities

Work placement will be in health & social care settings such as care homes, residential care homes or day care centres.
