Art and Design at The Beaconsfield School

Course description

The emphasis in this course is learning by doing. You will be able to create imaginative personal work. During your A Level course you will find out about a whole range of different media, techniques and processes. From charcoal to computers you just cannot have enough ideas when it comes to expressing yourself.

The course is based on hands-on experience. It is the work you produce that counts.You will be provided with the opportunity to explore practical and critical/contextual ideas in a variety of areas which include painting, drawing, mixed-media, sculpture, installation, printmaking, film, television, photography: lens-based and/or light-based media.

Entry requirements

Students should have achieved 7 A*- C grades at GCSE including English and Maths and at least a grade B in Art and Design.
