Business Studies at The Telford Langley School

Course content

The course is made up of three modules.

Module Unit 1 - Exploring Business Purposes .

Candidates will be introduced to 'business' in its broadest sense by considering what businesses work to achieve.

Module Unit 4 - Business Communication .

Candidates will explore and suggest improvements to business communication systems, considering the impact on the business and its stakeholders.

Module Unit 5 - People in Organisations .

Candidates will understand the importance of a personal audit and be able to evaluate the impact on employment opportunities



All units are assessed and graded and an overall grade for the qualification is awarded. Your course is assessed on the evidence provided by you, the student. Evidence consists of work you produce in the form of assignments and projects in which you show you have learned the range of skills set down by BTEC. Each unit is graded at pass, merit and distinction. For each vocational area, the first unit is externally assessed by examination. All other units are assessed internally using the evidence you produce.

Your work will be assessed on a regular basis and you will be given constructive feedback so that you can continually improve your performance.

There are no examinations.
