BTEC Diploma in Construction Level 2 at Burton and South Derbyshire College
The Level 2 Diploma in Construction is a work related course that introduces students to the exciting world of construction. The Level 2 Diploma is of a standard equivalent to four GCSE grades A-C. Students can continue their full-time studies with a National Award or Diploma in Construction at the College. Students who gain employment on completion can study the Extended Diploma in a Construction discipline part-time at the College.
Minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade D or better including two in Maths and Science along with a further two in appropriate subjects, or a Pass at NVQ Level 1, or a Pass on either the BTEC Introductory Diploma or Certificate.
The qualification is studied in one year and consists of six units. These are: • Exploring health, safety and welfare • Introduction to the Construction Industry • The use of science and maths in construction • Construction drawing techniques • Construction processes and operations for low rise domestic buildings • Construction methods and techniques for low rise domestic buildings
