Drama and Theatre Studies A Level at Stratford-upon-Avon College

Course description

Theatre is the mirror of society, and the Drama and Theatre Studies course offers you a chance to experience every facet of human behaviour and to find out who you really are.

Going to see live theatre and discussing it in detail is an essential part to the course. You can perform or direct as part of two practical examinations. For those who are not performers, there is the option to be assessed through the skills of theatre lighting, sound, costume or set design. You will study a variety of plays over the two years and will be tested on your practical understanding of them in a written exam.

Entry requirements

You will need to have:

  • 5 GCSE passes at grade C / grade 5 or above including English Language and Mathematics.

You will also need to:

  • attend an audition workshop.

Assessment

Assessment is 60% practical projects and 40% written examination.
