Computer Innovation & Design Level 2 at Walsall College

Course description

Computer Innovation and Design provides a foundation for progression into a more specialised area of Computing, and gives learners a strong footing towards employment in the Computing industry.

You will be taught about computer systems, business IT, customising software and database design. This will help you gain the knowledge, understanding and skills you need in preparation for employment.

The qualifications also provide career development opportunities for those already in work:
 

  • Education and training for employees working in IT.
  • Providing opportunities for employees working in IT to achieve a nationally recognised Level 2 vocationally specific qualification.

Entry requirements

4 GCSE’s at Grades D to G (including a curriculum-related subject). Or successful completion of Level 1 related qualification.

Assessment

Students will complete 7 units, and these units will be assignment based, with a variety of assessment methods. Functional Skills will require a written test.

  • Digital Age Innovation (Software and Web development) Level 3
  • Digital Age Platform (System Support and Networking Administration) Level 3
