Course description

We live in an information rich era. Those who wish to exploit the opportunities offered by today’s technology-driven economy will need a thorough knowledge of how information can be communicated. There is an emphasis on the practical elements of ICT, achieved through a variety of approaches including links with local employers, case studies, research and the use of advanced ICT tools.
You will enjoy this course if you like to: Be able to select and use appropriate ICT tools and techniques to help you carry out investigations Capture and handle data, solve problems, make decisions and communicate information Work co-operatively and manage projects Provide quality ICT-based solutions to a range of problems Develop an advanced awareness of the developments in technology and its impact on the way people live their lives

Entry requirements

The A Level ICT course is suitable for students who have achieved at least grade C in GCSE Maths and English. However, the most important factor is that you have an interest in, and are enthusiastic about ICT and about developing the knowledge and skills you need to be a competent and informed ICT user and practitioner.
