Course description

AS Economics in Year 12

We study the AQA board Economics which comprises two units consisting of a mix of microeconomics (the study of individual consumer and market behaviour) and macroeconomics (the study of national and international economic theories and issues)

Unit 1 Micro and Macro Economics (1 ½ hour paper – Multiple choice questions plus essays)

Unit 2 Micro and Macro Economics (1 ½ hour paper – Multiple choice questions plus essays)

A2 Economics in Year 13

We study the WJEC board Economics at A2 which consists of two units; the first is a study of business economics and the second looks at further developing the students knowledge of the macroeconomy (the study of national and international economic theories and issues)

Unit 3 Competitive Behaviour, Macroeconomics and Globalisation (I) (1 ¾ hour paper – short answer questions plus essay)

Unit 4 Competitive Behaviour, Macroeconomics and Globalisation (II) (2 hour paper – one data response question plus essay)
