HITZ Project at Northampton Saints at Northampton College

Course description

This is a short introductory course, run over 40 hours (approx. 5 weeks). The programme repeats throughout the year. It is designed to reengage students who have been out of education for a while, or are in danger of becoming NEET (not in education or training)this is a perfect stepping stone to help prepare you for a full time study programme.Topics covered: - Maths & English assessment- Award in Employability- Sports & Activities- Confidence building- Team building- Work place experience- Enterprise- Gym induction- Progression advice- Financial supportAfter completing this short programme there will be an opportunity to move on to either our Vocational Studies or HITZ programme.

16-18 year olds out of education.

Entry requirements

Students who have no GCSE results, or do not have 4 E Grades, or who have not attended some of their school education and need to achieve an Entry Level or Level 1 qualification in order to progress onto their chosen vocational area or into employment or apprenticeships.When can you start? Assessment

There are varying methods of assessment within the programme, e.g. observations, role play, professional discussions, written tasks and presentations, workbooks, written assessments and computer based activities.
