Children's Play Learning & Development Level 3 at Craven College

Course description

If you want to be an early years practitioner, early years teacher, nanny, classroom teaching assistant, children’s representative, playworker or registered childminder (subject to successful registration), our Level 3 courses, which are A Level equivalents, enable you to progress into these careers. Some courses allow you to achieve the license to practice and EYE.

Childcare has been taught at Craven College for 25 years by highly qualified childcare practitioners with backgrounds in day nurseries, playgroups, hospitals, schools, child-minding and neonatal intensive care. This gives you an industry perspective which is often not present on the same smaller courses at school and the depth of study in the Diploma and Extended Diploma give you the license to practice and EYE along with UCAS points if you want to go on to Degree level study.

Work experience is essential on childcare courses. At Craven College, we provide those placements for you. In 2017 we sourced over 150 placements in locations such as Clitheroe, Shipley, Leeds, Bradford and Skipton due to our experienced tutors and their extensive industry links.

Childcare students need to have a warm, caring and patient nature, good communication skills, the ability to work with young children and their families in a sensitive and positive way, have creative ideas for activities and an interest in child development. These characteristics will be built on throughout the course.
