A Level Photography at Bath Community Academy
Use Photoshop, Nikon SLR cameras and the studio. Enjoy an experimental course and explore a wide range of processes to explore your ideas. Be inspired by studying other photographers work. Course Overview
Unit 1: Portfolio of work including small projects such as -exploring emotions in portraiture, a self portraiture project incorporating
a mixed media approach and industrial structures. This unit also includes an extended project.
Unit 2: EST (Externally set task) from exam board. Where pupils will create a project in response to a chosen theme from the paper.
Unit 3: Self directed project with written essay to support work on a genre of your choice.
Unit 4: EST (Externally set task) from exam board. Where pupils will create a project in response to a chosen theme from the paper.
B grade in GCSE Photography or Art.
Students can go on to complete foundation diplomas in art and design or lens based media. They can also go onto study photography; illustration; fashion photography; graphic design; photo journalism; forensic photography at university.
