Design and Technology: Textiles at East Leake Academy

Course description

The role that designers and technologists play in our society is enormous. Throughout our lives we will come into contact with, use and be affected by the results of designers’ thoughts and decisions - the clothes we wear, the cars we drive, the sports equipment we use, the houses we live in, the computers we work on are just a few of the products in which a designer has had a great infl uence.

To succeed, designers and manufacturers have to display initiative, creativity, imagination and flair whilst utilising new technologies and showing awareness of the environmental and social effects of their work.

The rewards for following a design related course are excellent for able, well-motivated and dedicated people in whatever design field they decide to work in.
