Course description

Mathematics is an important study area for everyone. The ability to be numerate, inquisitive and logical is vital to support us in all areas of life.

Course content

This Advanced Level course provides an excellent, challenging environment upon which to build a sound understanding of mathematical concepts. The course consists of four modules (two in Year 12 and two in Year 13) of Pure Mathematics. Two further modules are also completed in addition.

A Level Mathematics provides an excellent qualification in its own right but often strongly supports many other courses running in Years 12 and 13. Please ask for further details if you would like to see how A Level Mathematics relates to your entire programme of study.

Entry requirements

Students entering the Form who have not attained grade C or above in GCSE English or Mathematics will be required to re-take those subjects in Year 12 to acquire the C or above result.

Future opportunities

Careers are wide and varied, often in the Science/Business sector. An A Level in Mathematics will tell an employer of your ability to organise, structure and successfully complete a challenging activity
