Acting EDEXCEL BTEC Extended Diploma Level 3 at Cornwall College

Course description

Ideal if: you want to develop the skills you'll need for a career in acting for film, television or stage.

You'll need: four or more GSCEs at grade c or above including English and mathematics,  or equivalent qualifications.

You'll learn: how to experiment with performance and develop your acting and voice techniques.

Expect: many opportunities to expand your knowledge of contemporary and classical theatre and the chance to devise and to direct your own work.

You'll love: exploring the business and  cultural heritage of performing arts.

You'll go onto: employment in the  performing arts industry or progression to  university study such as our HND Small Scale Theatre.

Course content

During the course you will:

  • Experiment with performance
  • Study the business and cultural heritage of performing arts
  • Prepare and take part in performances in the College's own starte-of-the-art theatre, the Keay
  • Develop acting and voice techniques

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grades A*-C or equivalent qualification.

Future opportunities

On successful completion you will be better equipped to gain employment in the industry and be able to progress to our small scale theatre HND.
