Physical Education A-Level at St Mark's West Essex Catholic School

Course description

You will study a range of topics that provides continuity with GCSE syllabus in the approach to the assessment of PE.

The assessment will incorporate both performance and knowledge of the subject area of PE. You will also develop your own Personal Exercise Programme as part of the course and you will assess practical activities in structured practices and competitive situations. This will give the opportunity for you to offer your own personal specialisms for practical assessment.

This course can lead to a career as a Sports Coach, Physical Training Instructor or can allow progression on to university to study Sports Science. This can in turn open a range of career opportunities including the chance to become a Sports Psychologist, or a teacher of PE, or various careers in the Sports and Leisure industry

Entry requirements

GCSE Grade C and/or Core Science or Additional Science Grade C
