AS and A2 units and content: Contemporary Studies Anatomy & Physiology Skill Acquisition Exercise Physiology History Studies Psychology Practical Synoptic

Entry requirements

Having experience of GCSE PE is an advantage but not a necessity. A grade B or above on the GCSE exam paper is preferable. Having a strong background in 2 sports is a requirement.

Future opportunities

PE teaching, Physiotherapy, Coaching, Sport Science or any sports research. You could take this course to complement other advanced level courses such as Science or to prepare for the A2 part of an Advanced GCE in Physical Education, which could lead onto higher education in areas of Sport Studies, Recreation, Exercise and Science or more general higher education courses. With further training you could go into a job related to Physical Education such as a Physiotherapist, Teacher or Exercise and Fitness Trainer. You could also go straight into a job as the AS GCE is a recognised qualification that will help you develop the skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers across lots of industries are looking for, especially in the Sporting and Health Sectors.
