Course description

Agricultural engineering is for people who are practical and have an enquiring mind and who want a varied working environment with modern technology.

Course content

This one year course is aimed at people with lower entry grades who wish to develop their related knowledge and skills in agricultural engineering and seeks to lay the building blocks for a successful course progression or entry into an Engineering business. It covers key related knowledge, understanding and practical skills essential to work within the Land Based service industry. Successful completion of the Subsidiary Diploma in Agricultural Engineering at Merit or above, appropriate Functional Skills and with a satisfactory course reference will subject to interview and initial assessment, enable progression onto the Diploma in Agricultural Engineering

Entry requirements

Two GCSEs at grade C or above including English language and Maths, by interview and initial assessment.

Financial information

Students under 19 on 31 August 2015 are free (full time courses only). Examination fees for main qualifications are also free.

Students aged 19 to 23 may need to pay tuition fees.  We may be able to waive your fees if you are unemployed and receiving Jobseekers Allowance, studying your first full level 2 qualification or level 3 qualification.

Students aged 24 and over.  You may need to pay for your course.

Educational visits charge: An annual £65 fee is payable for all students and covers the cost of outside visits, special speakers and a contribution to the cost of administratio
