Enterprise and Entrepreneurship BTEC Subsidiary Diploma Level 3 at Mayflower High School

Course description

The Level 3 BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Understanding Enterprise and Entrepreneurship is a practical, work-related course. Students learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. It is equivalent of one A-Level and will be taken as a two-year full-time course. The course is made up of six units – four core units, which everyone takes, and three specialist units. The specialist units enable you to study particular areas in more depth.

Course content

All students in year one will study the following units:

• The innovative Entrepreneur;

• Pitching and Planning;

• Leadership and Teamwork.

What will I study in Year Two of Level 3 BTEC?

During year two of the course students will study the following units:

• Financial Literacy and Awareness.

• Working as an Entrepreneur.

• Business in an international context.

An overall grade for the qualification is awarded to all learners who successfully complete all units. Grades awarded are Pass, Merit, Distinction and Distinction*.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs minimum grade C or Level 2 BTEC Diploma minimum grade of a Merit. A grade C at GCSE English and Mathematics is preferred.
